Back in the '50s, the local malt shops introduced pinball as a means to attract more customers and income. This gave way to Pac-Man, Asteroids, Defender, Gallaga, and then on to the games that you see now in mall arcades.
The next generation arcades/soda shops are now turning to Internet access and PC gaming to replace traditional arcade-style games. The price point is currently at about $5 for 2-3 hours of gaming/Internet access. I wonder how much net profit these shops can pull in with this pricing?
