If you know me, you know that tonight I am a proud baseball fan tonight. As a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, I have pulled for these guys through the low years and through the high years. Last year came to a painful ending and this year the Cards were picked to finish no better than 3rd in the division. Thank goodness they did not listen to these pretenders and put up some impressive numbers (105 wins) against some very good teams. Even this week when the Astros went up in the series, my Cubs friends were giving me all sorts of grief. I cant wait to walk into the office tomorrow!
I also congratulate the Boston Red Sox. To do what they did is no small feat and demonstrates that no competition is over until it is over. And to beat the Yankees is more icing on this post-season cake. I know that the biggest Red Sox fan in Memphis is one happy idiot. But come next week, Ill be asking him Whos your Daddy?
One thing for sure is that St. Louis will once again prove whether they win or lose that they are the class of the Major League.
