Scott Hanselman does a great job of summing up the goodness that is Google Desktop Search in this post.

I installed it earlier today but just had an incredible experience with it. I am sitting here working on a book and went to google to search on something I was writing about, I felt I need to do a little research so I was sure I understood the topic the best I could. The first result from the "Desktop Search Results" was the same document I was working on, marked with a save time of 9:53 PM... it was 9:59 when I did the search.

Pretty incredible.

WinFS what?
