About a month ago, I decided to put the two hours on the train to good use and catch up with the over 1000 SF books I have collected over the years representing the Hugo, Nebula and other awards over the last 30 years or so. So I read and read, especially after surgery, and this is the list in case anyone cares:

  1. Count Zero, William Gibson
  2. Mona Lisa Overdrive, William Gibson ----This was the *best* of the lot, loved it almost as much as Neuromancer
  3. The Diamond Age, Neil Stephensen
  4. The Atrocity Archives, Charles Stross  -- I had loved this serialized years ago in Spectrum SF
  5. The Stone Canal, Kevin MacLeod
  6. The Cassini Division, Kevin MacLeod
  7. Consider Phelbas, Iain M Banks
  8. Smoking Poppy, Graham Joyce          --- impressive and engrossing!
  9. Altered Carbon, Richard Morgan
  10. Spin State, Chris Moriarity             - *very* impressive debut with cutting-edge Quantum Mechanics, great story too
  11. currently reading A Fire Upon the Deep, Vernor Vinge
