It's just increasing my jones for a Mac. It's really the answer to a great, graphical Unix that I've always wanted. Linux just doesn't cut it for me for desktop use when you put it up against OS X. What I need is good Virtual PC performance and gobs of RAM. Any word on Apple's tablet plans? Or even a laptop w/ L3 cache (that won't cost $4k)?
Update: Brian wasn't done typing yet, apparently. There's a bit at the bottom about the new G5 chip, a 64-bit chip that's back-compatible with 32-bit, and supports a monster 1GHz front-side bus, serial-ATA support, 400MHz 128-bit DDR RAM support of up to 8GB, and CPU speeds up to 2GHz to start.
Wow. This is a major step forward in the performance department for them. Three models in August, starting at $1999. Can you get a 64-bit Wintel machine for $1999? Funny thing is, I can't find the Intel 64-bit chip listed on Pricewatch.
