To those of you wondering what’s happened to me, well I’m heads down coding on our ‘next’ product. It’s been a wonderful experience so far working on my first Smart Client although the milestones for this project have been pretty aggressive. What I enjoy most is that I’m learning a lot not only in terms of the technology but the guys I’m working with. We have two ex-Microsoft Program Managers working on this project one of them is an Architect and the other was working on the Windows XP UI team.

There’s a lot happening in .NET land:

-          A special edition of Visual Studio 2003 to be released which includes some of the features in VS2005

-          A new feature: “no-reg COM wrapper” call COM components from .NET code without having to do regasm crazy stuff, it even works with xcopy!

-          IIS 7 announced

-          Microsoft VS.NET trounces IBM WebSphere in the latest benchmarks that will be published by the Middleware company this week.

So until next month, TTFN.
