Many of you have probably already heard the story...

A couple of months ago, Steve Smith got notice that he was being "called back" to the Army. Steve is a very notable member of the ASP.Net community (MVP, ASPInsider, ASPAlliance, etc). I figured I would see an email or two here or there from him. However, he has managed to keep himself rather connected.

At first it was his own blog describing his experiences (from Iraq). Now, he has managed to launch a new blogging site with the goal of enabling fellow soldiers to also tell there story.

The main url at http://ArmyAdvice.org/ will show posts from a growing number of army bloggers.  I've set up three this weekend; guys in my platoon or whom I've met since getting called up.  I expect that number to grow as word spreads of free blog space for soldiers. [ArmyAdvice]

I think this is a great idea, and I am sure the families of those blogging will be excited to have another way of communicating with their loved ones.
