Mitsubishi has found a way to increase the response speed of LCD pixels by more than 100%. This will eliminate the "ghosting" found in a lot of LCD monitors - the primary reason they're not used for PC gaming. It will also put another nail in the coffin for plasma TVs, which are already technologically inferior (but priced to sell).

Initial tests show that this new technology can turn on pixels in 1ms and turn the off in 5ms, compared to the traditional 40ms speed of today's LCD displays. No word on what this will do to the pricing of LCDs.
