I finally broke down and ordered myself a 40GB Ipod, I had toyed with the idea of waiting around for the 60GB... but couldn't wait any longer. Chances are the 60GB might be larger and I like the smaller sized devices, so I did not want to wait any longer. (And even though I have more than 40GB of music I don't think I really need to carry it everywhere with me)
Why not go with any of the other devices? I looked at the Creative device and it was just too large and the interface was pretty crappy. The Dell had a crappy interface too, and the tragic flaw that you can't copy stuff back from the device to your system. The only real competition was the iRiver which is pretty close in features to the Ipod and then it came down to the interface, I like the scroll of the Ipod better than the little joystick thing on the iRiver.
