My buddy Steve Maine has two interesting posts on service orientation. The first is Everything’s a platform, in which he says:

“By thinking about service orientation now, you provide the future opportunity for someone else to use your bits in new and powerful ways.”

And, in response to comments left by both Sam Gentile and me, he writes one for Darrell and Sam. You’ll have to read the comments in the first post to understand the reason and reasoning behind the second post.
