Feed Description: This is a log of my findings and amusements with .NET. I also present information on my presentations and others that I see.
Hopefully, everyone knows about the .NET Rocks! show. The next month looks pretty good to me right now.
First, Jeff Richter is on the show this week. Jeff is the face of .NET in a lot of ways - book author, MSDN column on .NET, works on the .NET team, co-founder of Wintellect. That is a massive list, plus he's a genuine nice guy.
Second, Kimberly Tripp, the SQL Server Babe of the Universe, is on the show next week. She's smart, gorgeous, and knows more about SQL Server than I'll know in a life time. I'm smarter by just reading her blog.
Third, Carl has announced the ".NET Rocks Tablet PC Listener" give-away. Answer a few questions online and you're eligible to win a $3200 fully loaded Toshiba M200 Convertible Tablet PC with a 1.80 GHz CPU, 60 GB HD, and 1GB RAM. Contest ends August 26th, 2004. This is the same model that I have and it rocks! I have made it my everyday development box and now you can have one too.
As a final note about Carl, you might only hear of him as a excellent .NET trainer, Socket guru, or a funny guy that runs the .NET Rocks! show. However, others will know about his musical talents by seeing him play at TechEd Jam Sessions and the like. Last week, Carl gave me a CD that he and his brother made of original tracks that they wrote, produced, played, and sang. It is actually pretty good. Now, some of the songs were obviously written after some strange dreams or drug related experiences, but the music is definitely good to listen to. The CD includes the .NET Rocks! theme song, Toy Boy.
Some day when I'm smarter and wiser, I'll see why he has Rory on that show. <g>
