I set up a Vonage line tonight. It was a very simple process and so far (with very limited use) the quality seems great.

One thing I really liked about Vonage/VOIP was the ability simultaneously forward a call to second number. This allows me to give out just one business number and have it reach both my work number and cell.

Vonage takes this a step further, which turns out to be very cool. I started to think what would happen if I tried to check my voice mail from my cell phone? If my home number was forwarding calls to my cell phone which was making a call home, would my cell phone then have a call waiting request from itself? To my surprise, Vonage actually recognizes this and instantly puts me into my voice mail manager.

After having written that, I guess this makes it impossible for me to actually make a real call to the Vonage number from my cell. However, all I would need to do is open up a browser and deactivate the feature. Beautiful!

I have been using Vonage for about 60 minutes now, but if I were Verizon(and others) I would be more than concerned.
