Since today is iPod day, I should point out that I got a set of portable iPod speakers. On quite a few occasions (namely, every vacation), Lisa and I are looking for ways to bring music with us: on the plane, in the rental car, to the hotel room.

The Altec Lansing inMotion speaker system for the iPod is wonderfully executed. It folds up into a relatively small and portable package, with an included padded bag. It's easy to slip into a carry-on bag w/ your iPod, so you can have music in your hotel room or anywhere else you need. Although it's designed for the iPod (and can double as your iPod dock, since it supports the docking cable), you can also use it with external sound sources. It also sports a headphone jack for private listening.

It'll run off A/C with the included adapter, or 4 AA batteries. It sounds quite good, although it obviously lacks low end. It can also get quite loud. All in all, this was a great find (and I caught them on sale at CompUSA, which was another bonus).
