The exciting stuff from TechEd continues to challenge my notion that TechEd is useless marketing and IT dweeb conference and that maybe I should have went. Maybe it's the lack of a PDC this year.

• Of course, the burning question in everyone's mind (and the one I had when I saw it at the MVP summit), is Hatteras based on Vault? Eric answers that it is not Vault as I might have suspected, and was developed by a team led by Brian Harry, of early NGWS and .NET EAP fame days to some of us. He maintains that Vault still has value add. Let's hope so as I really like Eric, Source Gear and Vault.
• It has been confirmed that the “Community Technical Preview“ of Whidbey at TechEd, even though it is not Beta 1, is build PD5 and not PD4 as the March preview bits are. Brian Keller is checking on when it will be distributed to MSDN Universal subscribers. Whoops, Micheal Swanton says the May drop is up on MSDN Subscriber downloads!
• WS-Trust and WS-SecureConversation specs were updated and those are the versions implemented in WSE 2.0. So get the new specs if you are in this area.
• The updated C# 2.0 spec has been posted
• Micheal Howard announces the release of Frank Swiderski's Threat modeling tool
• The Sharepoint Products and Technologies SDK has been updated again and available here
