I just finished reading Patrick Santry's rant about blogs, and how they're polluted with a lot of unnecessary content. (Those are my words BTW). Now if this was in the context of blogs in general, I would say he's way out of line, but the point is that this is occurring on "technical sites", and this is why I agree 100%.
I've enjoyed my short time in the blogging world, and I think it often provides me with valuable information. Networking with other blogs and bloggers, allows me to gather knowledge and information ten times faster than I could on my own. The problem is you often have to muddle through a lot of personal blogs. These blogs often delve into the private world of the blogger, and do not have any relevance to technology.
Blogging is a great tool, and proves very powerful for those who wish to take advantage of it. But it?s hard to imagine that ?personal topics? have their place in a technology driven forum.
