As I reported to my enterprise client site today, there was already a buzz about the Sasser worm.  And it was certainly on-site.  The good news was that I was luckily unaffected by the event.  The only reason that I know of for my fortune is that I am running Windows XP SP2.
And here we'll go again.  "Windows is insecure!"  We'll hear it from a lot of ignorant sources.  But what they might not cover is that the vulnerability was disclosed last month and updates were provided.
Bottom line: enable that built-in Windows firewall and you had no issues today.
