Lately I've been hearing this buzz about Firefox, which has been getting louder and louder. I finally gave in, and took a closer look.
Firefox
Firefox is Mozilla's next generation browser, which was once known as Firebird. It's Mozilla's latest attempt to dethrone Internet Explorer, and from my initial impressions, it's looking very possible.
Features
A few of the great features that Firefox delivers:
*Tabbed Browsing
*Integrated Popup Blocking
*Integrated Google Toolbar
*Autodownload
and much more...
Aside from the noteable features, I've noticed that surfing is a bit quicker, and more responsive. Overall the GUI seems to be a lot cleaner, and more IE-like, which makes you feel right at home.
The scariest (For Microsoft) thing about Firefox, is that it's currently at version 0.8. Right now it's only a technology preview, which has yet to reach its full potential. After only spending a short amount of time with Firefox, I have to believe that the browser wars are going to get a lot more interesting.
