Spring is a lightweight framework in Java which aims to simplify J2EE development. "Spring is potentially a one-stop shop, addressing most infrastructure concerns of typical applications." Now following most other popular Java stuff like Ant (NAnt), JUnit (NUnit)… This also being ported to .Net. Sounds interesting. I was wanting to check out Spring (the Java version) for sometime now. Now this is double the incentive to check it out. :-)

Anyway I found this in the announcement.

I shouldn't need to say this, because religious disputes about platforms are plain silly, but rest assured that:
- This will not distract from the focus on Spring J2EE
- No sale of souls is involved

I hope a time comes when people do not have to put such disclaimers in their announcements. Check out the Spring for .Net here.
