There is an interesting thread going on over at TheServerSide.COM about what Java developers expect from this settlement, as a .NET developer what do you expect?

The one thing I hope to see from this settlement is more cooperation between the two companies on standards, whether WS specs or other specs. J2EE and .NET are the two contenders in the enterprise application arena, and the more the work together the better.

One of the comments on that site is particularly intriguing though, it suggests that SUN could write a Java compiler to generate IL... that would be pretty cool.
