There used to be a time when I could search for .NET library information on Google and click “I’m feeling lucky!” and get the info I want.  Especially when I would add the site:Microsoft.com search filter.  But now many of the top results are Longhorn, which I don’t see as all that useful since I work on developing solutions now, not 2-3 years from now.

For example, a search for System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataList site:microsoft.com returns the Longhorn SDK ahead of the current .NET Framework SDK.

So I’ve found my new favorite search filter –longhorn.  If I try a search for System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataList -longhorn site:microsoft.com, I get the information I’m looking for.

Remember, -longhorn is your friend!
