Google is launching Gmail - a free email service with 1GB of storage space for your mail. The differentiator to other free web-based email solutions seems to be that this one will allow you to keep your old email around much longer and the availability of good search functionality that lets you find info in all your stored email fast and flexible. I wonder how their spam-filtering technology will perform. IMO this will be crucial to the success of the new idea - or else the gigabyte of storage will fill up rather fast...
