Wow, Microsoft Research just recently published a great article on "The Life of a Digital Photo". Very interesting stuff ranging from some interesting features in a product called Digital Image Pro, to the WMMX project, some glimpses into a "media browser" application, and a online photo blog code-named "Wallop".

Great stuff. Obviously, some of these items we may never see, but it's great to see what Research works on.
