Here I am, minding my own business, trying to get Outlook to display news posts (the honeymoon is over: I officially hate Outlook again).

As is too often typical of Outlook, the UI is more or less frozen, simply because I asked it to do two consecutive things: mark one thing unread, then go move to another thing. It freaked out.

More importantly, though, the variable speed fan that keeps the laptop cool just went into panic mode. It was about 14x louder than I've ever heard it before, and it did that for about 45 seconds straight. Outlook was still horked, but I was rapidly shutting down Virtual PCs and closing my personal e-mail in preparation for "the crash".

It didn't come, but I'm not sure it's still not coming soon. *sigh* Like I have any extra money sitting around, waiting to be spent on a new laptop.
