Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 Connector for SharePoint Technologies (aka Spark) is now available for download.

It contains software and documentation that you can use to integrate CMS 2002 with Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003. As part of Microsoft Integrated Portal Technologies, the CMS Connector for SharePoint Technologies enables the sharing of key publishing and search technologies as well as enabling unified content management, publishing, and collaboration across the enterprise.

You can classify the functionality of the CMS Connector for SharePoint Technologies in three broad categories:

  • Direct publishing of CMS content within a SPS portal. You can publish CMS Web content directly from SPS and provide a view into workflow status through Web parts.
  • Direct publishing of WSS document library content to a CMS site. You can include document content from WSS document libraries on a CMS site, either inline or as an attachment, and maintain synchronization with the document library.
  • Use of SPS Search with CMS. You can include CMS content in enterprise-wide searches. This allows you to not only index CMS content from SPS, but also access SPS search from CMS applications.
