Brian Moore, our local Microsoft Evangelist, came by this morning to speak with us regarding a few items with Match.com.

Mid-year 2003 I had spoke with he and Rob Howard at length about setting up a "North Dallas" .NET Users Group. Currently the Dallas .NET Users Group is held in Irving at the Microsoft Offices there. Irving is a good central location, but hard for many of us that live in the North East Dallas suburbs/citys (such as Richardson, Plano, Frisco, etc...) to make the drive to the UG. Dallas is definitely big enough to support multiple user groups.

We talked in depth with Brian, again, today about setting up this UG, and his enthusiams was really a great motivator. So, after he left I ran out and grabbed pdnug.net/com/org and actually found sponsored hosting (details on whom soon to come) for the domain.

The next step is going to be figuring out the logistics of where, when, etc... the fun stuff. Anyone in the DFW area with suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone has experience with this and can get us any pointers, I would surely appreciate it. I think this is going to be a great opportunity - I'm always trying to find other venues to give back to the community, and I think this would be a great enabler.
