He starts off by mentioning a new article series he is working on to enable ASP.Net 1.x developers to take advantage of some of the great ASP.Net 2.0 ideas now instead of when ever the official release happens.
He then goes on to mention on of the cool new features in ASP.Net Whidbey, “Control State” which allows control developers to have a private (and guaranteed) viewstate like statebag available to them. This way, even if the end user turns off ViewState, control values that need persisted data will still function correctly.
