I remembered it has been nearly a year (and about 3 Url's) since I started this blog. I was going to save this post for the anniversary date, but since it falls on Thanksgiving, I figured I should hit publish a little early. :-)
Both personally and coding wise its been a pretty spectacular year, which has more less centered around .Text the entire time. The project started out as two aspx pages, a usercontrol or two and a single table. The admin consisted of a very simple form. To edit posts I had to enter PostID in the querystring.
I had thrown the initial blog up after a single night's work right before Alex and I coded the web and lyrisASPAdvice implementation. I stepped away from the code for a month or so during the after-work ASPAdvice coding marathons.
A couple of weeks later I started to get a bunch of requests for my blog code which was pretty tightly integrated into TripleASP.NET. I decided to pull the code out into its own application. I am not 100% when it happened, but I thought it would be cool to allow others to write about .NET while I hashed out what eventually became known as .Text.
Looking back at my first post, I should have seen this coming:
"Don't you just hate projects you think will take one day and end up dragging on and on and on...."
Dragging is not the correct word. Its been a lot of fun working on this project. As you will see in the coming weeks and months a lot of cool features/events/etc are still happening. A month ago, I was able to find well over 1000 blogs using .Text. I am pretty excited to see what will happen in the next 12 months.
Thanks again to everyone who has sent encouragements, bug reports, provided feedback, and helped make this a powerful tool in the .NET community.
