Gordon just posted his take on the first meeting. I have to agree that it went great, better honestly than I'd expected a discussion on source control systems to go. I have to attribute this to some remarkably smart people with lots of experience. We had 7 people, which is a couple more than I'd expected, and everyone committed to making it to the next meeting on December 15 (topic not yet decided).

I'm glad to be involved in something like this. It gives you that much-sought-after Third Place. Beer and caffeine were available in plentiful quantities, and opinions were available in mass quantities. I'm really looking forward to next month.
