Project work has gotten so hectic that there's very little time for anything anymore and there is very little out there that aren't endless repetitions of the same stuff. I would like to see .NET blogging community move to deeper discussions (raise the bar) of the bigger picture issues like Architecture, Design, patterns, Security and such. Anyhow, here are some things for now:
Alan Shi from the CLR team talks about an obscure feature called the Application Restore tool that records the Fusion binding info and lets you go back to a previous binding if it does not work. This is very valuable and something I did not know about. In all the possibilities of version policies, publisher policies, etc. it's very easy to screw things up.
Brad Abrams has updated the guidelines on Explicit Member Initialization.
Mike Deem has been blogging up a storm on the WinFS design. Most are worth reading.
Ray Ozzie is one of those big picture thinkers who can brilliantly perceive the scene and project out for the next couple of years. His latest essay, where he totally groks the real importance of WinFS, is a must-read.
