Feed Description: A technology blog for people enlightened enough to think for themselves
Recently, I've been getting some idiots who like to spam certain topics (specifically my topic on the illegal selling of prescription drugs on the Internet). Now, with MovableType, I can block their IPs and there are even some 3rd party plug-ins that can filter comments by word. As the blog community grows, I predict that this nuiscance will grow exponentially as well.
Thus, and idea for a new product is born. Develop some type of anti-spam comment filtering system that can plug into the major blogging server software. The biggest requirement would be the ability to filter by some dictionary type per thread (sometimes the word prescription would be valid, whereas in other threads it may not be). Another idea would be to implement a reverse lookup engine to validate e-mail addresses and URL's before allowing the user to post their comment. Just a thought.
