Three hours of jaw dropping stuff. The implied simplicity of XAML and browser based deployment with Longhorn is really going to change things.
Quick Definition: XAML is a declarative XML based way to build winforms in Longhorn.
With Whidbey's support for partial classes, you can easily generate your UI in XAML and then code it up as normal. Chris and Don spent quite a bit of time walking though samples using XAML, Indigo and Avalon. After they were finished, Adobe, Merck, and Amazon showed some real world uses with the existing bits. Abode showed a plug in to one of their graphically applications that would allow you to generate a slick you and then export is as XAML which a windows programmer could then “bind“ against. Merck's demo showed the interactions between a client, doctor, and clinical technician. Data was transfered from client to client and displayed in a very rich way. Amazon, pretty much summed everything up and showed how you can create a super rich shopping experience using all of the tools above and interfacing with their existing web services.
