We went to see Dogville yesterday. This
movie is amazing!
Playing in one single location, namely the town of Dogville, the movie is reduced
to the main characters, some cars and a few pieces of furniture. The rest of the town
like buildings, plants or streets is just markings on a grey floor. It looks like
a theater play and gives way to the very interesting and philosophical story. Watching
this movie feels like reading a piece of literature and marks a new era of filmmaking
to me. Telling anything else would be a spoiler - except maybe that Nicole Kidman
and Lauren Bacall play fantastic roles.
