To enable customers migrate their sites from MCMS2002 to vNext, Microsoft will be releasing tools and perscriptive guidance to:
  • migrate data
  • convert templates to page layouts (see here)
  • identify calls to the CMS API

In addition, Metalogix are developing a content migration solution for Office 12 that will enable organizations to efficiently migrate their content from existing Web CM systems (addressing both MCMS 2002 and alternative products).

Their solution will support taxonomy refactoring/creation, link and resource management.

We can expect a beta release soon after the public beta 2 release of Office 12.

I propose to host a webcast to demonstrate Migration Manager 3.0 for Office 12 as soon as possible after beta 2 arrives and the non disclosure constraints are removed. I will post details of the webcast later.
