There's rumblings at O'Reilly that an embedded form of Windows will be inATMs by 2005. There's a lot of security worj to be donw between now and then. Personally, I don't think that you can utilize any OS that has its source code open to the public (like Linux or now parts of Windows) for stuff like this. There are just too many hackers out there drooling at the opportunity to be the first to be able to hack an ATM because of some vulnerability.
