So, this is the blow by blow of the broad band installation that I am having done today. My area does not have DSL or Cable Internet yet. A company however just put up a wireless transmitter with 512k connections. So, for me, coming from 42k at best, this is a dream come true. Have you ever tried to connect to a SQL Server database over dial up? Yeah, it's a kick in the ass. Supposed to be here at 1:30 PM. We'll see.

12:30 PM, shows up early. I'm not there for another hour. He said he will come back. I hope he does.

2:30 installer says my system is shutting down their whole network, they need to unplug me. I don't think so!

3:30 installer leaves saying that he can't finish and that I need to call him so he can help walk through the problem.

5:30 I get home, see the cable laying on the floor, not plugged in. I look at my system, realize that I have two versions of AOL that I don't even use anymore on my box. I uninstall both version, re-boot, add some Windows XP patches, plug the cable in and ZOOM ZOOM, I'm connected, no problem.

I'm living in the fast lane now... always on Internet access. Oh it feels so good :)
