Thurrott: Nvidia says X-Box deal doesn't make financial sense, and security experts call MSBlaster "amateurish".
On the Nvidia comments, I wouldn't be surprised. With the current X-Box price structure and business model (don't laugh!), it is hard to imagine how the next generation equipment can be manufactured in a profitable manner. As for "amateurish" viruses, MSBlaster sure did wreak a lot of havok for something labeled "amteurish". Most viruses that go public aren't that sophisticated anymore, meanwhile they cost us many millions (perhaps billions) of dollars when factoring in technology support and maintenance costs along with business interruptions. The technical assessment of viruses from so called "security experts" doesn't really help us much from an economic perspective.
