I was just researching a little for a comment here on my site and I found some info that I guess I kind of know before, but seeing the numbers really sent things home for me.

People in this part of the world seem to be doing all right (gay marriage and all.)  Check out some of these charts:

We seem to kill each other more often with minimal gay marriage here [1], the age that kids start having sex is very similar [2], they are better educated [3], they are always in the top tier for GDP per capita with us [4], they live longer than us [5], and they are more generous than us [6].

Sounds like a real hell hole.
