I was starting to think that magical words like "Yukon" and "Longhorn" were just figments of my imagination.  Now MS releases Beta 2 of SQL server 2005 (Codenamed "Yukon") to the MSDN subscribers - which I am lucky enough to be a part of.

Now the question comes about why do they release it during the busiest few months of my life?  MS obviously wants me to fall behind in my knowledge of upcoming technologies.

“SQL Server 2005 is Microsoft’s next generation data management and analysis solution that will deliver increased security, scalability, and availability to enterprise data and analytical applications while making them easier to create, deploy, and manage on platforms ranging from mobile devices to 64-bit systems.

SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 includes many new and enhanced capabilities across database development, administration, deployment, and data analysis.
