I don't know how this will make both of my readers feel :) but I am starting to play with integrating some links to affiliates in to my blogs entries. For example, I will be putting Amazon links to products I mention and eBay links to the more obscure items. Occasionally I may put together a “Drool List” or recommendation list based on some things I want or suggest others get.
The only technical problem I have that the links to Amazon seems to appear strange in my RSS Reader. They show up as generic links to Amazon (which get me a small affiliate bonus if you buy something after clicking the link also) instead of nice links that show the current price and an image. I also thought about putting a single Google AdSense ad on each post so they could be seen from the RSS feed, but I determined that it might be a little much, plus either way I know someone already got a cease and desist letter from Google about trying it, so I guess that is not what they see as creative advertising.
When it comes down to it I don't think I will make much money even if both of my readers participate in the ads, but it should be a learning experience for future Ad revenue based sites I would like to build.
I will try to post about what seems to work and what doesn't as I go.
