I have determined that if you have semi-normal friends you tend to forget what is common knowlege and what isn't when talking to them.  I find myself bringing things up in casual conversation about RSS, Wiki, Wikipedia,  Channel 9, the concept of famous bloggers, and even blogging in general only to get glazed over eyes from the uninitiated target of my rants.
