Learn how you could perform a hard reset on the Nokia E5.

When your hand held device is not operating the way it should, you could try to reset it so that all the setting go back to the default factory settings.

Note: before you carry out the below steps, if there are any data on the device that you want to keep then make sure you have back them up first. Once the device is reset, all the data on it will be erased. All data on the SD card should be preserved.

Here's how:

Hard Reset - this option you will loose all data on the device

1. Enter in the code *#7370# and press on Dial. When the device prompt for the security code put in the security code. If you haven't change the security code previously then the default one is 12345.

 

Soft Reset - this option only bring all the settings back to the default factory settings. All your personal data should still be preserved.

1. Enter in the code  *#7780#. When the device prompt for the security code put in the security code. If you haven't change the security code previously then the default one is 12345.

Just to be safe you should try to backup any of the important data before executing any of the above steps on the Nokia E5.
