The Calendar Alert on the iPad 2 is a great feature to have, however whenever there is an alert, it does not make an alert sound. If you are so deeply engaging with your work, you may forget about the appointment that you have, because the iPad 2 does not raise an alert sound to remind you of the appointment. Here's a few things you can check.

- Ensure that the iPad is not set to mute. You can check this by the side switch button.

- Ensur that the volume button has turn on to an appropriate level that you could hear.

- Ensure that the calendar alert sound has been enable.

   1. Press the Home button.

   2. Tap on Settings.

   3. Select General.

   4. Select Sounds.

   5. Ensure the Calendar Alerts switch is set to On.

You could also set the alert sound for the calendar invitation by doing the following:

1. Go to the Home screen.

2. Tap on Settings.

3. Then tap on Mail, Contacts, Calendar.

4. Now under the section Calendar, ensure that the New Invitation Alerts is set to On.

Before you start relying on the alert sound to remind you of your appointment, you better give it a test first.
