After spending some time reading on the iPad 2 your eye may get tired. You you could try is to change the screen brightness on the ipad so that the screen becomes darker and it can helps the eye. By lowering the screen brightness you could also save some power. Here's how:

1. Go to the Home screen.

2. Pick Settings.

3. Then select the Brightness & Wallpaper option.

4. Using the slider bar on the right hand side you could adjust the brightness to an appropriate level.

You could also set the Auto-Brightness to On if you wish iPad to automatically do the adjustment base on the current light conditions. iPad has a ambient light sensor which helps it detect the current light level.
