Before you can use the Maps feature on the iPad you must enable the location services. Using Maps you can easily pinpoint where you are and you can do cool things like finding out what's cool near by. Maps can also helps you to plan your trip and make an estimate of how far you are away from your travel destination. Here's how to turn it on:

1. Go to the Home screen.

2. Tap on Settings.

3. Select General.

4. Choose Location Services.

5. Then from a list of the available apps that uses Location Services, select the app you want to enable location services and set it to On.

Any app that uses location services will consume power, so if you do not need it then turn it off to save some power.

You could also set this feature on for all apps by setting Location Services to On.
