I might be a little older than the demographic this company is actually shooting for, but I think this product looks pretty impressive. Just one year ago I most likely would have thought this was strange, but I have been playing the MMORPGStar Wars Galaxies for a while now and I can see the value.
One of the parts of Star Wars Galaxies I value most is community and chat. It is sort of like a place to hang out virtually with minimal pressures and something to do all the while. It's kind of like a virtual pool hall. Sure you are mostly there to hang out with people, but at least you have something to do at the same time.
For those of you that have never heard of There.com it is sort of an online hangout. You create an avatar and do anything you feel like in a bunch of virtual environments. You can meet new people or just hang out with friends. An interesting aspect of the game is that you can open web pages within the program and you can spend virtual money on items within the game. With the monthly subscription you get an allowance that you can spend.
Once my sister gets a cable modem I will have to talk her in to trying it out, I think she is in the demographic they are selling to. Here is a link to the site and to a video sample of gameplay. [READ][WATCH]
