Last year the present was a google throw blanket that I was very surprised to get.
Happy 2nd Birthday Google Answers!
Happy 2nd Birthday! As we enter our third year, Google
Answers continues to steadily grow. We attribute the
quality of our service directly to you, our Researchers,
because you are the heart and soul of this operation. Your
sharp eyes, keen intuition and brilliant minds have made
Google Answers the most successful paid question-answer
service on the web. We are proud to constantly remind our
colleagues at Google that you are what make this service
excellent.
Some of you may be wondering what sort of gift we're
sending you in honor of the hard work you've done to bring
us through year two. This year, you won't receive anything
through the mail, but we still think the birthday gift is
super cool...
Within a couple of weeks, you will be able to log into your
Google Answers accounts where a new link will be waiting
for you, inviting you to upgrade your account to include a
Gmail address.
Gmail, as you may know, is Google’s new email service. You
will join a small number of users while Gmail operates in a
limited test phase. To learn more about Gmail, click on
the following link:

There are a few caveats about using Gmail and Google
Answers together. First, if you upgrade your Google
Answers account to include Gmail (the default), Google
Answers notifications and email will be sent to the new
Gmail address. From that point on, you will need to login
to Answers with your new Gmail address instead of your old
address. Eventually we will remedy this restriction, but
we wanted to make you aware so that you could choose
whether you wanted your Gmail account linked to your Google
Answers account.
You also have the option of not upgrading your Google
Answers account but rather creating a new Gmail account in
addition to your Google Answers account. There is a
restriction in this case, too: you will not be able to log
into both accounts (Google Answers and Gmail) with the same
browser (However, launching separate instances of a browser
will circumvent this issue).
In either case, we really think you’ll enjoy using Gmail.
It has already revolutionized the way the Editors use
personal webmail, and we think it will do the same for you.
Again, Happy Birthday! One final note: once you activate
Gmail accounts, Gmail-specific questions should be sent to
the Google Gmail Team via the Help link inside the Gmail
interface, not to us via the Google Answers support
addresses.
