So I ripped into David Geary pretty good a while back for his early look at Rails, which I found to be... uhm... "lacking". But there are no grudges, only additional information.
Geary is pent on acquiring that and I'll cheer him on for that! Change can be an unsettling place, but as long as you recognize your own emotions, you're going to be fine. Geary writes about that with:
To be honest, I'm a bit nervous about this ROR thing. I've poured an awful lot of David Geary into Struts, Tiles, JSF, and now Shale and it'd be really hard for me to admit that something else is better than that stack. On the flip side, Ruby seems a lot like my beloved SmallTalk and ROR is a youngster, so hopefully I can climb up the learning curve quickly.
Excellent, Geary. Glad to have you take another look. There's nothing like peer pressure from people like Bruce Tate and Dave Thomas to offer an opportunity for revisits.
