Gavin Sinclair announced the formal start of the Ruby 'addlib' project. Gavin broached the topic a short while ago, fielding ideas for the project. It is now ready to go, and looks quite good.

The basic idea is to collect myriad libraries that make a nice complement to the Ruby standard library. As stated on the home page, that means "... they should be general in nature, and conceivably useful in a wide variety of applications and other libraries."

In addition to good code, the project needs good documentation. If you are familiar (or want to become familiar) with any of the libs being included, and can write documentation, please consider lending a hand.
