Wisconsin. Land of beer, cheese curds, and da Packers!
I had a good time in 'sconsin, visiting the folks up at the lake house for the 4th of July. Lots of relaxing, food, beer, some reading, a couple movies, some fireworks, a little fishing and a little sight seeing.
This year we did something different and took a 2 day trip over to Door County to see what the fuss was about. Pretty cool. Very scenic. We visited one lighthouse, went to one fish boil, bought some cheese curds and dried cherries, watched one home town parade, and did a little shopping.
In other news we bought new rods and reels. Unfortunately, we're all somewhat inexperienced with open reels and lots of entanglements ensued, in part because we unwisely overfilled the reel. Once we cut the amount of line on the reel down by about 50%, along with a little practice (quick tension), things went much more smoothly. Some nibbles, but no bites.
On the way out to the airport we went to Lambeau Field and checked it out. Very, very nice stadium. The renovations they did were very impressive. We ate at Curly's (Brett Favre's steakhouse was closed until dinner), and it was decent.
Then I headed home. Some special ketchup I bought in Door County was confiscated by at Green Bay (fuckers), the plane was delayed an hour out of Minneapolis due to weather (fuck) and my car battery was dead when I finally got there because I left an inside overhead light on (double fuck). Fortunately, some kind souls gave me a jump.
