Looks like we have an awesome feature in the pipeline for Subversion, merge auditing.

Which basically means that managing multiple branches is much more elegant now.

Here is a visual representation of a typical merge path for multiple branches.

Going to keep this a brief post, but more details can be found on the Submerged blog about this upcoming enhancement to Subversion 1.5.
